How AI restoration fits into a premium production workflow

Targeted enhancement vs. blanket filters

  • Heavy grain + good color → denoise / restore, not a full grade stack
  • Soft from resolution/compression → AI Video Enhancer, not unsharp-mask alone
  • Composable modules beat one monolithic "magic" button for speed and fewer artifacts

Fitting AI into an existing pipeline

  1. Export problem clips from Premiere / Resolve / FCP
  2. Run the matching KwaFlux module with a short preview first
  3. Export the codec your timeline expects — conversion is in-app

When AI enhancement is not the answer

  • Hard out-of-focus beyond a few pixels will not become tack-sharp
  • Single-digit bitrate mush may have lost unrecoverable detail
  • Strong ROI: footage that is almost usable — close the last gap, then ship

Production pressure and batch processing

  • Queue per-clip or per-batch settings for overnight runs
  • Export log = what finished, what failed, which settings applied
  • Morning QC against the worst frames, not only the hero shot
