Ledger 1 — privacy and compliance
- A cloud job starts with an upload. Travel vlogs may not care. Client work under NDA, family faces, and internal screen recordings often do — upload is a veto, not a preference
- Local processing removes the "in transit / stored by a vendor / what is the retention policy" layer. You do not have to parse a privacy page to learn where the master sat overnight
- Most serious desktop enhancers share this shape. It is a desktop-versus-cloud difference, not a KwaFlux-only claim

- Cloud enhancers usually meter minutes or credits. More footage means more spend, month after month
- A local tool is a license plus hardware you already own plus electricity. Ten times the volume does not ten-times the software bill

What hardware does local processing need?
A DirectX 12 compatible discrete GPU — NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel Arc are supported; NVIDIA RTX is recommended for TensorRT. Plan for 16 GB RAM (32 GB recommended). We do not publish a VRAM floor until that number is measured. Details stay on the download page.
Is local quality worse than cloud quality?
Quality follows the model, not the building it runs in. The real differences are transfer, queue, cost, and whether the master ever leaves the machine.
Does KwaFlux work fully offline?
Processing never uploads the clip. Sign-in and license checks still use the network because export and convert require an active paid plan. Previewing 1s/3s/5s does not.
Does batch processing cost extra?
No per-minute fee. Folder batches are a workflow, not a higher SKU. The cap is your disk and your GPU time, not a credit balance.
