Frequently asked questions
- Does KwaFlux create, translate or transcribe subtitles?
- No. Subtitle Edit works with subtitles you type in or import as SRT or ASS. Transcripts and translations come from your own source.
- Can I remove subtitles that are already burned into the video?
- No. Burned-in text is part of the picture. Start from a clean master, then burn in new subtitles or add a soft subtitle track.
- Should I repair before or after burning in subtitles?
- Before. Repair and set the output size first, then burn in, so the text isn’t processed along with the picture. A soft subtitle track in MKV avoids the question.
- Can I run several clips through the same settings?
- Yes. Load the clips into one workspace, set the parameters on one, apply them to the rest and Export all. The Converter also takes a whole folder at once.
- Is my footage uploaded anywhere?
- No. The AI processing runs on your own GPU, and your clips are not uploaded for processing — there are no per-minute cloud fees or upload queues. KwaFlux still goes online for sign-in and license checks, app updates and model downloads (plus the GPU Acceleration Component on Mac), downloading a file from a link, and the crash and diagnostic reports described in our Privacy Policy.
