Subtitle localize workflow
Edit video subtitles locally
Course, client, and UGC captions should not require uploading masters to a caption SaaS. The shipped workbench is Subtitle Edit: add or import SRT/ASS, preview style and timing, then burn in or export a soft subtitle. Translation and ASR are not released.

Place captions on the real picture, then export burn-in or soft-sub
The current workbench is an editor, not a translator. Preview timing on a short slice before you export.

Typical cloud path
Upload masters to a caption SaaS → wait → re-download → package elsewhere.
KwaFlux local path
Cues stay on your GPU; preview timing free, then burn-in or soft-sub export.
Why localize subtitles without uploading masters
- Hard and soft subtitle problems are a language-track job, not a reason to re-upload the whole timeline to the cloud.
- You already have a script or an SRT — edit and burn it on the same GPU that repairs the picture.
- Local processing keeps NDA and education footage on the workstation through the language step.
- Free 1s/3s/5s previews let you check timing on the densest line before a full export.

Frequently asked questions
Does this replace a professional captioning vendor?
- It replaces the SaaS hop for placing and burning cues you already have. Broadcast-critical accessibility still needs human QA — and machine translation is not shipped.
Are hard-burned subtitles supported?
- Editing a new track does not erase burned-in titles. Soft-sub or a fresh burn-in on a clean picture is the honest path. Always preview.
Is my footage uploaded anywhere?
- No. The AI processing runs on your own GPU and your clips are not uploaded — there are no per-minute cloud fees or upload queues. The network is used only for sign-in and license checks (needed to export on a paid plan) and for updates.

Subtitle Edit is the shipped local workbench for SRT/ASS cues: style, timing, burn-in or MKV soft-sub. Translation and speech-to-subtitle are not in this release.
