When to enhance instead of (or as well as) upscale

Plenty of footage is already high-resolution but still looks wrong: washed-out color from a flat picture profile, judder from low frame rates, or dull dynamic range on modern HDR displays. Enhancement targets those problems directly. Because KwaFlux is one pipeline, you can chain enhancement after upscaling in a single pass — restore resolution first, then fix color and motion.

Frame interpolation deserves a caveat: AI-generated frames work best on natural motion. Extremely fast action or hard scene cuts can produce visible artifacts, which is why previewing a short segment first is the recommended workflow.

Why local processing matters

Color work and interpolation are iterative — you try a setting, compare, adjust. That loop is painful when every attempt means re-uploading to a cloud service. Locally, previews render in seconds on your own GPU and there is no per-iteration fee.

How to enhance a video with KwaFlux

What does SDR to HDR conversion actually do?

It remaps the tone and color of standard-dynamic-range footage to take advantage of the wider brightness and color range of HDR-capable displays, making highlights brighter and shadows deeper without crushing detail.

Can I convert 30fps video to 60fps or 120fps?

Yes. Frame interpolation supports fixed 2x and 4x modes plus a custom target anywhere from 30 to 120fps. AI generates the intermediate frames, so motion looks smooth rather than duplicated.

How does slow motion work without a high-speed camera?

KwaFlux interpolates new frames between the originals and then plays them back at normal speed — up to 8x slow motion from standard footage. Natural, continuous motion slows down best.

Will frame interpolation cause artifacts?

On most real-world footage, no. Very fast motion, flashing lights, or hard cuts can confuse any interpolation model, which is why KwaFlux lets you preview a short segment before rendering the full clip.

Is my footage uploaded to the cloud?

No. The AI processing runs on your own GPU and your media files are not uploaded — there is no queue and no per-minute cloud fee. The network is used only for sign-in and license checks (needed to export on a paid plan) and for updates.
