Why Runway Gen-3 output needs upscaling
- 01Runway clips often reach you as a second encode, from a review link, a chat attachment or a social download, so blocks sit on top of the generator's softness.
- 02Quality Repair cleans those blocks in the same pass that sets the 1080p or 4K output, so reconstruction does not treat compression as texture.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this work on older Runway models too?
- Yes. The same path applies to Gen-3 and earlier Runway exports. Compare repair types on a free preview before you export.
- Will upscaling fix warped hands or morphing?
- No. Those are generation errors. Upscaling recovers resolution and edge detail; pick a better take first, then upscale.
- Can interpolation or color fix a soft Gen-3 export by itself?
- No. Frame Interpolation changes timing and AI Color Grading changes the grade. Softness and frame size are Quality Repair's job, and that pass also cleans re-encode blocks.
- Can I upscale a whole batch of generations at once?
- Yes. Load several clips into one workspace, set the parameters on one and apply them to the rest, then Export all. Each clip goes to Task Center and renders on your computer while you do something else.
- Is my generated video uploaded anywhere?
- No. The AI processing runs on your own GPU, and your clips are not uploaded for processing — there are no per-minute cloud fees or upload queues. KwaFlux still goes online for sign-in and license checks, app updates and model downloads (plus the GPU Acceleration Component on Mac), downloading a file from a link, and the crash and diagnostic reports described in our Privacy Policy.
