Sky Replace — locally, on the horizon line

Sky Replace is a dedicated desktop workbench for swapping washed-out or empty skies without a rotoscope graph. It runs on your GPU. Preview a short slice before you export the new plate.

  • Dedicated sky workbench — not a generic color grade
  • Local processing for travel, landscape, and aerial clips
  • Free 1s/3s/5s previews; export stays on your machine

Horizon plate

Swap a dull sky without leaving the desktop shell

The current workbench keeps sky controls in the right rail. Preview the horizon before a full export.

What sky replace is for

Horizon-aware swap

Built for outdoor plates where the sky is the problem — haze, overexposure, or a flat grey lid.

Same preview → export loop

1s/3s/5s effect previews on your GPU, then a queued local export. No cloud render farm.

Works beside AI Color Enhance

Grade or SDR-to-HDR is a different pass. Swap the sky first when the lid is the issue, then grade.

Why a sky module exists at all

A global grade cannot invent cloud structure that was clipped to white. Sky replace is a plate swap aimed at the sky region, not a LUT. Results still depend on a readable horizon and motion.

Night interiors and studio sets are the wrong job. Use AI Color Enhance or AI Video Quality Repair there.

Preview the horizon, not just the first frame

Pans, trees crossing the horizon, and reflections in water remain hard. Check a talking-length preview on the worst pan before you queue the whole clip.

How to replace a sky in KwaFlux

  1. 01

    Import an outdoor clip

Landscapes, travel, and aerials with a visible sky work best. Extreme lens flare is a hard case.

  2. 02

    Run sky replace and preview

Tune the workbench controls, then preview 1s/3s/5s on a pan that crosses the horizon.

  3. 03

    Export locally

Full export needs a paid plan. The file stays on disk — the media is not uploaded.

Where you start: the Sky Replace workspace with no clip loaded. Pick a sky image, then colour adaptation matches the scene grade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fix a completely clipped white sky?

It can replace the lid with a new plate, but it cannot recover cloud texture that was never recorded. Preview honestly on the brightest section.

Is this the same as AI Color Enhance?

No. AI Color Enhance grades the whole frame. Sky Replace is a dedicated horizon/sky swap workbench.

Is my footage uploaded to the cloud?

No. The AI processing runs on your own GPU and your media files are not uploaded — there is no queue and no per-minute cloud fee. The network is used only for sign-in and license checks (needed to export on a paid plan) and for updates.

Can I try it before buying?

Yes. Download KwaFlux and render 1-, 3-, and 5-second effect previews across all AI modules without creating an account. You only sign in and pick a paid plan when you want to export or convert, and there is a $199.99 Perpetual License if you prefer to skip subscriptions.

How many devices can I use?

Each license can be used on up to 2 devices. Sign in on a new device to activate it; if you are already at the limit, the least recently used device may be signed out automatically. You can also revoke devices from your dashboard at any time.

What are the pricing options?

The Perpetual License is $199.99 one-time. Subscriptions are also available at $29.99/month, $49.99/quarter, and $79.99/year. All plans include the full local desktop feature set.
