Drive KwaFlux from an AI assistant with MCP
The KwaFlux 1.0.8 installer includes a local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. An AI assistant on the same computer can check the app, queue jobs, and follow their progress, while KwaFlux processes the media on your own GPU.
Updated · KwaFlux 1.0.8
Before you start
- KwaFlux 1.0.8 or later is installed and running on the same computer.
- Node.js 18 or newer is installed and on PATH. The installer includes the MCP script, not a Node.js runtime.
- An assistant app that supports MCP: Codex, Claude Code or Claude Desktop, OpenClaw, DeepSeek (DSH), Hermes, or Cursor.
Connect your assistant
- In KwaFlux, open Settings → Agent (MCP).
- Copy the snippet for your assistant into its MCP configuration. Add the kwaflux entry; don't replace the whole file.
- Reload MCP in the assistant and keep KwaFlux open while you use it.
What the assistant can do
- Read the app status and the task list, follow a task's progress, and wait for it to finish.
- Queue enhance exports for a video with 16 modules: Quality Repair, AI Color Grading, Video Stabilization, AI Slow Motion, Deinterlacing, Smart Cropping, Cartoonization, Sketch Generation, Fixed Style Transfer, Face Relighting, and the six AI Beauty modules.
- Convert a file's format, check a media file for damage, and repair it.
- Look up a link and download it. Agent downloads stay off until you allow them in Settings, and each download needs your own confirmation in the chat.
- Pause, resume, cancel, or retry tasks.
Sign-in and plan
- Reading status, checking a file for damage, and pausing or canceling tasks work without signing in.
- As in the app, exports (enhance jobs included), conversions, file repairs, and downloads from a link need sign-in and a paid plan. So does resuming or retrying one of those tasks.
- Free 1s/3s/5s previews stay in the desktop app. The assistant does not render them.
Files and connection
- Exports, conversions, and repairs are written next to the source file. Downloads go to an existing folder you choose.
- Only paths on this computer are accepted. Network paths are rejected before any file is touched.
- The connection is local stdio: no remote URL, no OAuth, and no Authenticate button. On Windows it uses a named pipe for your user account; on Mac, a socket only your account can open.
- New jobs are limited to about 10 per minute.
